Salary range: £42,060 – £44,685 p.a. (inc. London weighting).

Contract: Fixed Term – 12 months.

Hours: 36 hours per week.

Location: Civic Centre and other locations from time to time.

The Post

You will manage a caseload of residents at risk of homelessness, working proactively to sustain tenancies, prevent eviction and support landlord compliance. This includes early intervention in tenancy breakdown, providing practical support and advice to tenants and landlords, and identifying and referring cases where there may be breaches of housing legislation to the appropriate teams. You will work closely with internal teams such as Private Housing Services, legal representatives and external partners to deliver effective prevention outcomes, reduce the need for temporary accommodation and support residents to maintain stable housing.

The Person

We are seeking a motivated and proactive individual with strong knowledge of homelessness and the private rented sector, and an understanding of the changes introduced through the Renters’ Rights Act 2025. The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a housing or homelessness service, managing a caseload and supporting residents at risk of homelessness to achieve positive outcomes. You will be confident in managing complex and sensitive situations, working constructively with tenants and landlords to sustain tenancies and prevent eviction. You will have experience of providing clear and accurate housing advice, understanding legal processes and using professional judgement to identify appropriate interventions. Strong communication, negotiation and problem‑solving skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and build effective relationships with internal services and external partners. You will be resilient, adaptable and committed to delivering high‑quality, resident‑focused services in a fast‑paced and evolving environment.
