The Post

Are you a team player? Are you willing to roll up your sleeves for the benefit of learners? Do you go the extra mile when needed? Have you got a good track record for the attendance and achievement of your learners? If you can answer ‘yes’ to those questions you are the kind of person we are looking for to enter our pool of sessional/bank staff. We are looking to strengthen the teaching team at Brent Start and we want creative, flexible and committed staff to make this possible. This role requires teamwork and a willingness to do what it takes to support Brent Start and the curriculum area in which you will work.

The Person

Casual tutors with experience of delivering digital skills courses to students who range from complete beginners to intermediate levels, and is confident in one or more of the following areas:

  • Essential Digital Skills
  • Software and Apps Development
  • Web Development
  • Digital technology and media – including programming

You are a dedicated member of staff who consistently puts learners first. With attendance at team meetings, training events and standardisation/audit meetings, you are a person that can be relied upon to produce quality. You have knowledge and experience of RaRPA and also of using accreditation with external examination boards. Ideally you are a fully qualified teacher with either a PGCE or a Cert Ed as a minimum. You may also have some subject specific qualifications to add to your list. Your English and maths are already certified as level 2 or above. If you do not already hold these qualifications, there can be a discussion around your commitment to gaining them within a certain time period at your own cost. A current DBS would be welcome.
