The Post
This role within the Digital Transformation team will lead on a suite of projects focussed on tackling digital exclusion across the borough of Brent. The appointed candidate will play a key role in ensuring that residents have fair and equal access to digital tools, skills, and opportunities. The post will involve:
- Developing and delivering digital inclusion initiatives: Designing programmes that help residents gain essential digital skills, from basic device use to navigating online services.
- Line management of a Digital Project Support Officer: Providing clear direction on the project support required, tailored development opportunities and contributing to a positive team culture.
- Supporting vulnerable and digitally excluded groups: Working with older adults, low income households, people with disabilities, and others who face barriers to digital access.
- Building partnerships across the community: Collaborating with libraries, community centres, charities, schools, and local businesses to expand digital support networks.
- Improving access to devices and connectivity: Coordinating schemes that provide loaned devices, affordable broadband options, or public Wi Fi access points.
- Promoting digital confidence and safety: Helping residents understand online safety, privacy, and how to use digital services securely.
- Monitoring impact and reporting outcomes: Collecting data, evaluating programme effectiveness, and reporting on progress to the Council’s internal boards and sharing learning with external partners.
