Location: Brent Civic Centre and other locations as required
Clinical Psychologist – Lead Therapeutic Practice
You will lead the Intervention First Team, providing strategic and operational leadership for a multi‑disciplinary therapeutic service supporting children and young people.
This senior leadership role combines clinical expertise with system‑wide influence, fostering a reflective, supportive and high‑performing culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong clinical leadership and embed evidence‑based, trauma‑informed practice across the service
- Lead, manage and develop a team of therapeutic practitioners, fostering a high‑performing culture
- Deliver specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for complex cases
- Oversee service delivery, including case allocation, performance monitoring and quality assurance
- Work collaboratively across education, health and care, contributing to multi‑agency planning and decision‑making
- Promote early intervention approaches and psychologically informed practice across the wider system
- Lead service development, innovation and continuous improvement, using data and feedback to drive impact
- Provide training, consultation and professional guidance to schools and partners
Qualifications and Experience
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) and registered with the HCPC
- In‑depth knowledge of child development, attachment, trauma‑informed practice and evidence‑based psychological interventions
- Significant experience working with children and young people, including those with complex needs
- Experience supervising and managing staff, with the ability to develop capability and lead high‑performing teams
- Confidence delivering psychological assessment, formulation and intervention at a specialist level
- Experience working within multi‑agency environments, collaborating and influencing across education, health and care
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills, with ability to influence decision‑making and drive improvement
- Commitment to safeguarding, professional standards and continuous development
