Brent's Best Start Family Hubs are recruiting a dedicated and experienced Best Start Inclusion Practitioner (BSIP) to join our innovative Family Hub network. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Experts at Hand Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) approach, working collaboratively with families, practitioners and partner agencies to ensure children with emerging or identified SEND receive the right support at the right time.
As a BSIP, you will play a key role in promoting inclusion, strengthening early identification of SEND, supporting practitioners and empowering families to access services that help children reach their full potential.

About The Role
- Identify children with emerging SEND needs and support timely access to appropriate interventions and services.
- Deliver evidence-based universal and targeted support programmes for children and families.
- Promote inclusive practice across Family Hubs, early years settings and partner organisations.
- Provide specialist advice, guidance and consultation to practitioners and parents.
- Contribute to multi-agency planning and coordinated support through Brent's Experts at Hand MDT clusters.
- Support implementation of the graduated approach: Assess, Plan, Do, Review.
- Facilitate positive transitions for SEND children into early years settings and school.
- Deliver training and parenting programmes that improve outcomes for children with SEND.
- Champion the voice of the child and ensure practice reflects the SEND Code of Practice.
- Promote early intervention and raise awareness of the Family Hub and SEND support offer.
This role will involve some evening and weekend working to meet the needs of families and support wider Family Hub activities.
What We're Looking For
- A Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or a related field (or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of SEND in the Early Years and experience working within an Early Years setting.
- Knowledge of SEND legislation, inclusion practices and the SEND Code of Practice 2015.
- Knowledge of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Understanding of multi-disciplinary and partnership working.
- Experience as an Early Years SENCO and/or supporting children with SEND.
- Experience of working collaboratively with a range of agencies and professionals.
- Experience of developing positive partnerships with parents and carers from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience of providing advice, support and professional challenge in a strengths-based way.
- Strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills, good ICT skills and record-keeping abilities.
- A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
