Salary range: £40,182 - £42,060 p.a. inc

Contract: Fixed Term until 31st March 2026

Hours of work: 36 hours per week

Location: Craven Park, Brent Civic Centre & other locations as required

The Post

One of the Government's main priorities is to ensure that all forms of homelessness and rough sleeping is reduced. At Brent Council, we are very committed and passionate about this. We have received funding from Greater London Assembly for a Rough Sleeper Support Worker post working with rough sleepers who live independently, providing a client centered approach to recover from entrenched rough sleeping. The post holder will act as a single point of contact for former rough sleepers, residing in our in-house rough sleepers accommodation programme ensuring sustainable outcomes around housing and independent living are achieved.

The post holder will be flexible in working and will work on a shift basis providing support for this cohort, working in a person-centred way to ensure sustainable outcomes around housing are achieved, meaningful employment is sought and individuals are supported to achieve their goals and aspirations.

We are seeking someone who is motivated and naturally caring in nature and who has an interest in supporting individuals who have a history of unstable, short term housing situations.

The Person

To meet the requirements of this exciting role, you will have a passion for collaborative multi-agency working and the skills to assist service users to attain the skills required to successfully maintain and sustain a tenancy and to live independently in the community.

We are looking for an empathetic experienced Rough Sleeping Support Worker who is passionate about providing the best level of services to previous homeless applicants. The successful candidate must be able to manage their own caseload of single people. You will be passionate and dedicated to helping people, not afraid to go above and beyond in order to get the best outcome and be forward thinking and creative. You will be an excellent communicator and able to talk to people of all backgrounds and disseminate complex information in a way that is easy to understand.

We are looking for an exceptional team player who has the skills and qualities that are needed to support, transform, and rebuild the lives of people who have been sleeping rough for a long period of time. As part of our expanded Rough Sleepers Team, you will engage positively and persistently with rough sleepers to build their trust and help them to obtain housing suited to their needs.

To meet the requirements of this exciting role, you will have a passion for collaborative multi-agency work, you will be an adept problem solver and you will have a proven ability to inspire and motivate people. You will also have experience assessing the needs of individuals risk assessment and risk management plans including in relation to safeguarding.
