The predicted salary is between 44685 - 48003 £ per year.

Salary range: £44,685 - £48,003 p.a. inc. London weighting. A £5000 ‘golden hello’ for OTs new to Brent, upon completion of their probationary period. An annual retention payment of £3000 for eligible frontline workers and managers from Grade PO2 – PO7.

Contract: Permanent

Hours of work: 36 hours per week

Location: Civic centre and other locations from time to time.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join the Complex OT Long-Term Team within Adult Social Care at the London Borough of Brent. This role is suited to an Occupational Therapist who is enthusiastic about working with adults with complex physical, functional, and housing needs and is committed to strengths-based, person-centred practice.

In this role, you will manage a varied caseload and provide occupational therapy assessments and interventions to support residents to live safely and independently. Key responsibilities include:

  • Completing OT assessments, including manual handling assessments and the recommendation of equipment
  • Assessing and recommending minor and major adaptations
  • Supporting housing and home environment assessments
  • Contributing to safe and timely placement discharges
  • Supporting risk management and safeguarding processes
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team including Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Sensory Impairment Officers, and Care Assessors. Practice in Brent is strengths-based, promoting independence, positive risk-taking, and supporting residents to remain active and influential members of their communities.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist with excellent communication skills, professional judgment, and enthusiasm for working in adult social care or community settings. You will have:

  • A Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent)
  • Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Experience in manual handling, equipment provision, and adaptations
  • Knowledge of housing-related assessments and community-based OT practice
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, manage caseloads, and work autonomously
