The Post
We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join a dynamic and growing Infrastructure Planning Team in a borough with an ambitious programme for regeneration and growth. This role will ensure regeneration and growth in the borough is delivered in line with Brent’s Local Plan and Borough Plan priorities through the planning and provision of infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise career grade officers and lead collection and processing of CIL income and s106 financial and non‑financial contributions.
- Provide advice to colleagues and applicants on s106 obligations, CIL, infrastructure, planning applications and pre‑application enquiries.
- Establish and improve effective S106 and CIL processes, reconcile s106 and CIL accounts, and transfer MCIL collected on behalf of the Mayor of London.
- Contribute to a new Infrastructure Delivery Plan to better prioritise and deploy S106, CIL and other capital investment, delivering infrastructure that supports development and growth for new and existing communities.
Qualifications and Skills
- Passion and enthusiasm for infrastructure planning, a track record of delivery, and a desire to help Brent’s diverse communities benefit from regeneration and growth.
- Experience of infrastructure planning and supervising staff, comprehensive knowledge of s106 and CIL legislation and regulations, infrastructure planning policy and issues, and partnership working between the public and private sector.
- A positive can‑do attitude, initiative, creativity in problem‑solving and planning, and experience in collecting and investing s106 and CIL.
