We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Clinical Psychologist to lead our Intervention First Team, providing both strategic and operational leadership for a multi‑disciplinary therapeutic service supporting children and young people. This is a senior leadership role combining clinical expertise with system‑wide influence. You will lead a team of therapeutic practitioners, ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, evidence‑based interventions that promote emotional wellbeing, resilience and positive developmental outcomes. You will play a critical role in shaping early intervention pathways, ensuring children and young people receive the right support at the right time and reducing escalation to specialist and statutory services.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing strong clinical leadership and embedding evidence‑based, trauma‑informed practice across the service
- Leading, managing and developing a team of therapeutic practitioners, fostering a reflective, supportive and high‑performing culture
- Delivering specialist psychological assessment, formulation and intervention for complex cases
- Overseeing service delivery, including case allocation, performance monitoring and quality assurance
- Working collaboratively across education, health and care, contributing to multi‑agency planning and decision‑making
- Promoting early intervention approaches and psychologically informed practice across the wider system
- Leading service development, innovation and continuous improvement, using data and feedback to drive impact
- Providing training, consultation and professional guidance to schools and partners
The Person
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Psychologist with strong leadership capability and a passion for early intervention and system‑wide impact.
- Hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) and be registered with the HCPC
- Have in‑depth knowledge of child development, attachment, trauma‑informed practice and evidence‑based psychological interventions
- Bring significant experience working with children and young people, including those with complex needs
- Have experience supervising and managing staff, with the ability to develop capability and lead high‑performing teams
- Be confident delivering psychological assessment, formulation and intervention at a specialist level
- Have experience working within multi‑agency environments, collaborating and influencing across education, health and care
- Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills, with the ability to influence decision‑making and drive improvement
- Be committed to safeguarding, professional standards and continuous development
