Overview

The Brent Centre for Young People (BCYP) is one of the UK’s first mental health services specifically for young people aged 11-25, reaching those who may otherwise not receive help. Established in 1967, the Centre provides a vital space for young people to reflect on and explore their worries in a safe environment. Each year, the Brent Centre for Young People reaches over 800 young people through a diverse range of mental health services and projects. By offering support to young people, we empower them to overcome barriers and challenges, enabling them to live enriching and rewarding lives, as all young people deserve.

Role Description

This is a voluntary role. We’re looking for young people aged 16-21 in North West London who want to make a difference to mental health provision in their community. Our Youth Panel allows young people in the local community to have a voice about mental health provision in their area. Our panel meets monthly at the Brent Centre. As a panel member, you will:

  • Make a real impact in your community
  • Share your voice & shape mental health services
  • Build confidence, skills & experience
  • Design and implement projects based on the interests and skills of Panel members
  • Opportunity to attend staff meetings and provide feedback to staff
  • Represent the Centre at community events

This is a highly rewarding experience and a chance to work with a group of like-minded mental health ambassadors.
