This is an opportunity for a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist or Child and Adolescent Psychodynamic Counsellor to join the Brent Centre within its WCYP & BCYP In-house, Private and other projects.
The post-holder might be involved in the provision of ‘Adolescent Exploratory Therapy’ (AET) and psychoanalytic psychotherapy to young people referred to BCYP at Laufer House. The post-holder will also have responsibility for providing assessment and psychotherapy to students, group work (if appropriate) and family/parent work.
The Brent Centre for Young People is a charity, established in 1967, with an international reputation for psychoanalytic services for adolescents and young people. The Brent Centre has offered pioneering psychotherapeutic approaches to working and engaging with young people, with the belief that adolescence is a crucial time to offer help.
There are excellent opportunities to learn about the Centre’s particular approach to adolescent psychotherapy and models of work, alongside weekly supervision groups with experienced psychotherapist/psychoanalysts and clinical team meetings. The Centre is active in training, research and publishing, and there are regular opportunities to teach or present at conferences.
The post-holder should have relevant experience as a psychotherapist, counsellor or clinician, and should be a Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist (according to ACP criteria), Psychotherapist, Psychoanalyst (BPC) or Child and Adolescent Psychodynamic Counsellors (BACP) with relevant experience.
