About the role
Oversee and conduct production and warehousing activities within the respective shift.
Your responsibility
- Manage the performance and personal development of the Operations team to drive behaviours aligned with our value of Safety First and Service Excellence.
- Lead the site teams to ensure all site activities are undertaken safely, efficiently and cost effectively.
- Create a high performing culture where team members are motivated, engaged, and supported to develop and achieve their potential.
- Plan and prioritise the day-to-day operations workload for the operations Team.
- Management of HR-related aspects such as holidays, sickness, return-to-work interviews and overtime.
- Oversee new starter inductions/introductions and training (functional, along with policy and procedure) within operations.
- Lead Quality & Compliance matters on site ensuring review, implementation & adherence to management systems to ensure conformance to Quality, BRC & HACCP System.
- Uphold high hygiene and GMP standards, ensuring the site is audit-ready at all times.
- Undertake Site Safety Assessments including Site Safety Walks, Risk Assessments, COSHH, Manual Handling, Workplace transport Assessments.
- Lead Site reporting and investigations into Accidents, Incidents, Miss-Loads and Near Misses.
- Lead/assist with BRC Customer Audits, Internal Audit Schedules and regulatory visits.
- Ensure that the permit to work system is in place and adhered to so that contractors and colleagues work safely at all times.
- Support site maintenance activities including the site asset & computerised maintenance management system (CMMS).
Your skills & experience
- Extensive experience in a food / pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRC and food safety legislation would be advantageous.
- Experience in working in a Safety Driven environment, NEBOSH General Certificate desired.
- Proven experience in a management / leadership role, developing a motivated, engaged and high performing team.
