About The Role
To deliver annual EBITDA targets through the effective technical support & development of sweet bakery mixes and ingredients by delivering sustainable growth in target markets. Drive business development through technical supporting the growth of the existing and potential customer base and driving innovation in the cake mix market.
Location: M4 corridor, travel to include Manchester and customers across the South. Home based.
Key Activities
- Execution of business strategies that grow the business in its target markets resulting in increased EBITDA:
- Responsible for supporting the delivery of annual Budgets and quarterly and monthly Forecasts
- Thorough understanding of the bakery market uses a wide range of tools/ techniques to effectively analyse the bakery market to develop appropriate business and customer plans
- Development of the A1 Cake Mixes customer base through identifying opportunities to grow existing customer volume or development of new customer partnerships:
- Ongoing technical management and customer support in a designated customer account portfolio
- Responsible for development of sweet bakery mixes within a designated customer account portfolio
- Supporting the prospecting and identifying sweet bakery mix opportunities across targeted customers with industrial bakery, food manufacturers and foodservice channels
- Management of new product development process across a designated customer portfolio from initial sample through to development of initial product sample at Manchester Test Bakery to line trial at customer site.
- Delivery of value through the focused management of market and customer-based development projects and programmes whilst ensuring regulatory compliance
- Work within the technical and development function to ensure effective management of development priorities to drive value growth
- Ensure all raw materials comply with regulatory, food safety and retailer policy and build a programme to ensure the achievement of targets (eg: salt/sodium)
- Build detailed plans to ensure development projects/strategies are delivered effectively. Manage joint project teams including A1 Cake Mixes colleagues, suppliers and customers
- Reporting of customer visits and trials to ensure wider team aware of development status across project portfolio.
Experience
- Significant technical experience in the bakery sector.
- Understanding of developing recipes in sweet bakery mixes and understanding of sweet bakery ingredients.
- Previous experience in managing customers in bakery environment across Craft, Industrial, Food Manufacturers and Retail sectors.
- Management of recipe and technical specifications in conjunction with Technical Department.
- Management of projects through product development, production to launch dealing with relevant suppliers and customer teams.
