Your Role
To lead and manage all operational areas within an upper tier COAMH environment at the Manchester depot and to ensure all activities performed are done so in a safe and efficient manner whilst meeting our customers' needs and meeting operational targets. To effectively support the Site Manager in all operational and HSE topics and campaigns. This site includes chemical storage both outside and inside warehouses, bulk storage, filling, legal and regulatory compliance, and the distribution of chemicals.
Responsibilities
- Responsibility for Safety Management System and approval of operational site documents including procedures and inspections.
- Ensure the operations department delivers on its Customer Service Excellence targets, working closely with the site manager, regional management, and other depot colleagues.
- Manage the contact/interface with all appropriate regulatory/professional bodies.
- Report to site manager on Near Misses, Misloads.
- Support Site Manager when investigating incidents on/off site.
- Support Site Manager to achieve annual cost budgets for Operations.
- Work closely with Transport Manager to ensure safe and efficient distribution of chemicals on depot fleet.
- Function as Permit to Work, Contractor management, site project lead, SAP and Responsible person.
- Help to identify site improvements, operational compliance and efficiencies with the Site Manager and support the communication and annual CAPEX plan.
- Help to implement agreed capex requirements in a timely, efficient manner including MOC requirements.
- Drive identified operational improvement projects to meet future projected business needs.
- Consult with customers and sales teams based on operational and technical requirements, including customer site safe compliance and tank/site inspections.
- Undertake designated site ops/engineering inspections.
- Ensure out of hours emergency calls are dealt with effectively.
- Undertake any reasonable tasks or duties assigned by your line manager from time to time, related to the effective and efficient performance of the job, and providing they are within the post holder’s skills and ability.

- Knowledge and experience of storage and distribution logistics.
- Knowledge of Chemicals and associated compliances.
- Experience of COMAH, HAZOP activities.
