Our team in London currently has an opening for a Works Supervisor.

As the Works Supervisor, it will be your responsibility to:

  • Lead Shift Supervisor Team.
  • Plan and deliver daily programme of work in liaison with the Operations manager.
  • Ensure the sampling of incoming products to maintain quality control against specification.
  • Complete work during the shift as delegated and necessary.
  • Process monitoring & control including laboratory analysis, completion of shift handovers including handover log, plant start-up & shutdown.
  • Receipt and dispatch of bulk chemicals.
  • Act as Site Incident Controller in the event of an on-site or off-site chemical incident until Site Management are in attendance.
  • Assist Site Managers in safe isolation of plant/process for maintenance tasks and with process fault finding and cause analysis.
  • Report all process breakdowns/maintenance issues efficiently & concisely.
  • General duties on plant including housekeeping, filter changes, and assisting/coaching Yard Operators both filling and loading.
  • Any reasonable duty, within the post holders capability & training, as specified by the site Management Team.
  • Maintain records to comply with company procedures including basic use of M4 stock and transport applications.
  • Proactively maintain all aspects of health, safety and environmental policies and practices.
  • Contribute to labour planning and rostering.
  • Proactive approach to near miss reporting from within all shifts.

Skills & Experience:

  • FLT license (essential) (Reach & Counterbalance).
  • Chemical background (desirable).
  • Able to demonstrate strong leadership skills coupled with the ability to respond effectively to ever changing priorities and demands.
  • Have a reasonable written ability and be computer literate as will be expected to use various IT packages within this role.
