We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to support the day‑to‑day financial operations and month‑end processes within our Finance team. Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of financial data. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, has strong attention to detail, and enjoys contributing to a collaborative finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare bank statements to ensure timely and accurate bank allocations.
  • Process purchase invoices using Mfour/SAP.
  • Resolve supplier queries in partnership with suppliers and the Procurement team.
  • Scan and organise purchase invoices within the document management system.
  • Complete GRNI reconciliations with suppliers.
  • Process employee expenses through Concur.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare month‑end journals for review.
  • Support customer and supplier rebate calculations.
  • Prepare and calculate depreciation within the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Prepare and analyse daily commercial reports.
  • Assist with stock reconciliation and provisioning.
  • Carry out additional ad hoc duties as assigned by senior management.

What You Will Bring:

  • Minimum AAT qualification (essential).
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including lookups, IF statements, and pivot tables.
  • Strong IT literacy, particularly with MS Office applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Good communication and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a busy team.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles.
  • GCSE/O‑Level (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
