An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and compassionate Clinical Deputy Manager to join the leadership team at our Froxfield care home, part of the not-for-profit charity Brendoncare. This is an ideal role for an ambitious clinical leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional, person-centred care while supporting and developing nursing teams.
Working closely with the Home Manager, you will provide clinical oversight across the home, champion high standards of care, and help create an environment where residents can thrive and colleagues can flourish.

About the Role
As Clinical Deputy Manager, you will support the Home Manager in the day-to-day leadership of the home, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care, governance, and resident wellbeing are consistently achieved. This is a hands-on clinical leadership role where you'll work closely alongside nurses and care teams, providing guidance, mentoring, and support while maintaining excellent clinical standards throughout the home. You will occasionally deputise for the Home Manager and, when required, provide direct clinical support to residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Home Manager in the operational and clinical leadership of the home
- Lead by example, promoting high-quality, person-centred care at all times
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate resident care plans
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance and CQC requirements
- Support, mentor and develop registered nurses through coaching and reflective practice
- Oversee clinical competency, training and professional development plans
- Participate in the recruitment, induction and retention of clinical staff
- Conduct audits, monitor quality outcomes and identify areas for improvement
- Analyse clinical data and support evidence-based decision making
- Work collaboratively with residents, relatives and external healthcare professionals
- Provide leadership and clinical expertise to the team on a day-to-day basis
About You
We're looking for a dedicated nurse leader who combines excellent clinical knowledge with strong leadership skills and a genuine passion for supporting older people.
Essential Requirements
- Current NMC registration
- Minimum two years' post-registration experience
- At least 12 months' experience in a senior clinical position within a care home setting
- Strong understanding of the CQC assessment framework and clinical governance
- Experience supporting people living with dementia
- Experience caring for older adults with advancing frailty, long-term conditions and end-of-life care needs
- Evidence of ongoing professional and clinical development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, flexible and hands-on approach to leadership
