Care Assistant Otterbourne Hill (near Winchester, near Eastleigh) 24, 36 hour contracts available £13.38 per hour (£13.72 with NVQ2). An additional 10% will be paid for weekend shifts as a premium uplift.

We are seeking a Care Assistant who shares our passion for providing the best possible care for our residents and who can demonstrate professionalism and energy in the home.
We are looking for somebody who:
- Supports our commitment to providing the best possible care for our residents and our ability to make them feel like family within a loving home.
- Values the small things which are important to each of our residents.
- Ideally has NVQ/QCF 2 qualification in Health & Social Care, but that is not a deal breaker.
- Has some care experience, but this is not essential as we provide lots of training.
- Shares our values.
- Possesses good communication skills, is a team player, reliable and committed, and has a natural affinity to older people.
What will I be doing?
- Providing personal care to clients which is person centred and respects individual choices.
- Providing additional care and support as required when a client is unwell or towards end of life.
- Acting as a Key-worker to a number of clients.
- Using personal knowledge and experience of working with those individuals to support the nurses in writing and reviewing care plans.
- Documenting care given, recording any changes and reporting these to the person in charge of the shift.
- Providing support and advice to residents’ families and friends, keeping them informed at an appropriate level with due regard to the adherence of confidentiality.
- Working with the Activities Team to develop group and 1:1 activities that will be engaging and of interest to the residents.
- Liaising with other agencies as required in the interests of the resident for example; GP, Social Services, Occupational Therapist, etc.

Brendoncare Otterbourne Hill is a modern care home in Hampshire, nestled in the village of Otterbourne. The residential home provides both dementia and nursing care for up to 64 residents in a family-like environment, filled with opportunities for friendship and a sense of community. For a home-from-home feel, Otterbourne Hill is divided into smaller households of 16 bedrooms. Our experience over the last 35 years has shown that these smaller households create a lovely family-like atmosphere. At Otterbourne Hill, each household includes a selection of communal areas and facilities where you can socialise with other residents. There are also other spaces for quieter occupations and tranquillity. The layout of the households has been specifically designed to help people find their way around easily. Outside, the gardens and terraces are a real feature.
