This is a full-time, permanent role (35 hours/week), including some weekends. We know life isn’t always 9–5, so we offer flexible shift patterns where possible – just talk to us about what works for you.

We’re looking for a compassionate and organised Head Housekeeper to lead our warm and welcoming housekeeping team at Brendoncare Stildon.

Make a real difference every day

As Head Housekeeper, you’ll help create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment where our residents truly feel at home. You’ll lead the housekeeping and laundry team, ensuring the highest standards are maintained across the home.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the cleaning and laundry team day-to-day
  • Creating and updating cleaning and laundry schedules
  • Liaising with residents and families to understand preferences
  • Supervising external cleaners and monitoring performance
  • Ordering and maintaining stock of cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Auditing equipment condition and organising repairs/replacements
  • Ensuring laundry runs efficiently and meets required standards
  • Completing risk assessments
  • Ensuring full compliance with COSHH regulations

About you

We’re looking for someone with experience in a domestic or cleaning role outside the home, ideally with some supervisory experience. You’ll also need to be:

  • A confident and supportive team leader
  • Organised, reliable, and proactive
  • Kind, approachable, and respectful toward older people
  • Comfortable building relationships with residents, relatives, and colleagues
