We are looking for meat operatives / meat packers to work at our catering site in Longridge: ‘Higher College Barn’ PR3 2YY. The role involves portioning, packing, and labelling various meat items throughout the day. You will be taught how to operate various machines such as burger and stringing machines, and learn how to make and tie sausages. Cleaning down at the end of the day is an important job and you will be expected to assist with routine tasks.

The starting rate is £9.50 per hour plus an attendance bonus, provided you attend all scheduled shifts each month. For example: Full time = 5‑day week = £50 attendance bonus per month. Pay is performance and commitment related. Experience in this kind of job is beneficial but not essential. You must have a ‘can do’ attitude and be a team player.

Work is 5 days over 6 (Monday to Saturday) from 8 am until 5 pm. We are particularly busy during school term time and expect some holidays to be taken during school holidays. The ability to drive to work would be helpful, although there is a bus stop close to the site and some staff cycle. We have onsite parking and offer staff discount on meat.
