We are looking for meat operatives / meat packers to work at our catering site in Longridge: ‘Higher College Barn’ PR3 2YY. The role involves portioning, packing, and labelling various meat items throughout the day. You will be taught how to operate various machines, such as burger and stringing machines, in addition to learning how to make and tie sausages.

Cleaning down at the end of the day is an important job, and you will be expected to get involved and assist with routine tasks. The starting rate is £9.50 per hour + attendance bonus subject to you attending work for all your scheduled shifts each month. For example, full-time = 5-day week = £50 attendance bonus per month. Pay is performance and commitment related.

Experience in this kind of job is beneficial but not essential. You must have a ‘can do’ attitude and be a team player. Work is 5 days over 6 (Monday to Saturday) from 8 am until 5 pm. We are particularly busy during school term time and would ask that some holidays are taken during school holidays.

The ability to drive to work would help due to our semi-rural location, although there is a bus stop close to the site and some staff cycle. We have onsite parking and offer staff discounts on meat.
