Our client, an established and privately owned construction company with a strong reputation for repeat business, is seeking a Senior QS to join their Uxbridge team, managing commercial projects across London and the South. You will work closely alongside the Managing Director in a supportive, collaborative environment, with a clear pathway to Commercial Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage project costs, cost planning, forecasting, and reporting on commercial developments
- Prepare and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
- Handle sub-contract procurement, valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Provide commercial guidance and accurate financial reporting to senior management
- Collaborate with project teams, clients, and supply chain partners
- Support the development of commercial systems and best practices
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience as lead QS in a main contractor environment, ideally with commercial projects
- Strong BOQ preparation and management skills
- Excellent cost reporting, financial analysis, and commercial awareness (JCT experience essential)
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Understanding of commercial construction techniques, project delivery, and relevant regulations
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
- Must be happy to travel to London and sites across the South when required
