Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this position is a superb opportunity to join a truly inspiring and innovative business with Headquarters in Leamington Spa. The role would suit a proactive self-starter with excellent numeracy skills and the ability to manage a small team. You will ideally be qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA. The successful candidate would ideally come from a tech-based business or practice background. This position is office based and 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.
Main duties include:
- Lead the financial and accounting function for the organisation.
- Manage the accounting team to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Ensure company adheres to finance and accounting policies and has robust financial controls.
ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the accounting and bookkeeping for the company, managing and developing an off-shore team of three.
- Preparing the monthly management accounts and providing insight and commentary on the numbers.
- Ensure revenue and UA (COS) is accurately reported in the accounts by reconciling to external dashboards.
- Ensure accuracy in financial data by reconciling accounts and processing transactions.
- Process and review journals for accruals, prepayments, fixed assets.
- Preparing weekly cashflow forecast and monitoring of cash flow and ensuring daily bank reconciliations are completed.
- Preparation and review of weekly payment runs.
- Preparation/review of monthly payroll and ensuring payments and filings are made in a timely manner.
- Managing VAT returns, Payroll and ONS submissions ensuring they are filed in a timely manner.
- Ensuring all royalty statements are prepared accurately and sent to the third parties.
- Help maintain and improve financial controls, policies, and procedures.
- Assisting Group Financial Controller with end of year audit, being the main contact point for queries.
- Build and maintain relationships with business stakeholders to support financial objectives.
- Ad-hoc other tasks which may arise from time to time and be assigned to you by your line manager.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- At least 3+ years of experience in a finance role.
- Demonstrate strong leadership abilities to guide, motivate and effectively manage high-performing teams.
- Strong decision-making skills, including the ability to make informed and timely decisions.
