Location: London and South East (with travel across the region)

We are seeking an experienced Safety & Risk Senior Construction Consultant to join our expanding team in the South West. This role will play a key part in leading construction health & safety services, supporting clients across diverse projects, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate multiple construction safety and risk projects.
  • Develop and review construction health & safety documentation, including:
    • Pre-Construction Information
    • Design Risk Registers
    • Construction Phase Plans
    • Health & Safety Files
  • Act as Principal Designer and/or CDM Advisor at a senior level.
  • Chair Design Team Meetings to ensure risks are identified, communicated and managed.
  • Review project Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), particularly relating to high-risk activities.
  • Undertake regular site safety inspections, produce clear reports, and track corrective actions.
  • Write professional client reports in line with agreed deliverables and scope.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams, stakeholders, and clients to develop practical, achievable and value-adding safety solutions.
  • Support business growth through strong client service and the development of wider consultancy skills.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience operating at a senior level within construction health & safety.
  • Strong knowledge and practical interpretation of CDM Regulations.
  • Demonstrable experience acting as Principal Designer and/or CDM Advisor.
  • Strong project management ability, with the capacity to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Confident at leading meetings, influencing stakeholders and providing clear guidance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with accurate use of industry terminology.
  • Experience producing and evaluating RAMS and CDM-related documentation.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

  • CMaPS qualification (or working towards), preferably with APS membership.
  • IOSH membership advantageous.
  • Relevant construction, design, or safety qualification (H&S, engineering, architecture, etc.) beneficial.
