Location: Manchester based – On-site across the UK

Weekly hours: 40 hours per week (excluding paid overtime)

Working hours: 8:00am–5:00pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break

Holiday: 33 days per annum inclusive of UK bank holidays

Overview

We are looking for motivated and reliable individuals to join our team of Commercial Furniture Installation Specialists. Our core products include new and pre-used Modular Acoustic and Soundproof Office Pods. The role involves delivering, installing, and assembling commercial furniture at customer premises in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and company safety procedures.

  • Loading and unloading vehicles
  • Planning safe and efficient delivery routes to customer premises
  • Assembling and installing products in line with manufacturer specifications
  • Ensuring high standards of workmanship and presentation on site
  • Managing and organising stock deliveries within the warehouse

This list is not exhaustive. You may be required to undertake other reasonable duties as necessary to meet business needs. The role is Manchester-based, however regular travel across the UK is required to meet business needs. Transport is provided for business use. On average, the working week consists of approximately 3 days on-site and 2 days warehouse-based, although this may vary depending on operational requirements.

Essential requirements

  • Minimum 6 months' practical hands-on experience installing furniture in a warehouse environment with an understanding of safe storage practices
  • Ability to safely carry out manual handling duties, including lifting and moving heavy furniture items, in accordance with health and safety guidance
  • Full UK Driving Licence (maximum 6 penalty points due to company motor insurance requirements). Driving between customer sites is an essential part of the role and employees will be required to drive Company vehicles regularly.

Working hours & overtime

Employees may occasionally be required to work additional hours in line with business needs. The Company will seek to manage working hours responsibly and in accordance with the Working Time Regulations. Where practicable, time off in lieu will be provided within the same working week. Any work undertaken before 5:00am or after 8:00pm on weekdays, or at any time on weekends will be paid at an overtime rate of £15.00 per hour. Employees may occasionally be required to stay overnight for multi-day installations. In such circumstances, the Company will provide suitable hotel accommodation and a reasonable meal allowance in accordance with Company policy.

Employees are required to attend the main place of work during contracted working hours unless otherwise instructed: Cheetham Hill, Manchester, M8 8SH
