We are seeking a machine operator to join our team at our cement handling facility in Dagenham as a Depot Operator. Reporting to the Depot Manager, you will coordinate daily operations including operating our Adams 10 packing plant and ensuring compliance with safety standards. This role requires experience in a manufacturing environment, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to optimising processes and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform machine pre-use safety checks and set up equipment following SOPs.
  • Operate and maintain packing plant machinery, including fault finding and corrective actions.
  • Assemble components accurately to specification.
  • Oversee rail and bulk loading activities (training provided).
  • Safely lift and manoeuvre stock items up to 25kg.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and streamline depot operations.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards at all times.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment as machine operator.
  • Valid Counterbalance FLT license (RTITB or ITSSAR accredited, tested within the last 3 years).
  • Strong health and safety awareness with a positive track record and ability to understand risk assessments and mitigate safety risks effectively.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work to deadlines.
