A great opportunity to join Breedon as part of our Airfield Surfacing Team as a Contracts Manager has arisen. The role will provide surfacing supervision services to key Airfield Surfacing projects being delivered across Great Britain by Breedon Surfacing Solutions. The role will ensure that the asphalt surfacing works are delivered, safely, to time, cost, and quality requirements.
You will lead the surfacing teams in the delivery of the surfacing works on commercial and military Airfields across GB, demonstrating excellent operational organisational skills and control to ensure the successful delivery of the projects surfacing objectives. As the role is national, the postholder will be required to have a valid driving license to drive in the UK and due to the duration of our airfield projects, the post holder will be required to spend periods of time away from home.
Key Objectives of the Role- Ensure that works are carried out in a safe manner with due regard for the public, customers, and other site employees.
- Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with the quality requirements of the specification.
- Direct individual foremen, planning future workload to meet targets.
- Assist Managers in developing staff.
- Assist employees to understand the requirements of their job.
- Place timely and accurate orders for materials and plant to ensure efficient production balancing cost against client value and adherence to standards.
- Ensure that accurate site records are maintained by the site team.
- Manage the plant and equipment requirements, ensuring it is procured in good time for the work, used in a correct manner, maintained in accordance with company requirements and removed from site when not required.

- Experience of asphalt surfacing in the aviation industry preferable.
- Ability to lead a team.
- Demonstrating clear and effective communication.
- Communication: The ability to get messages across clearly by adopting a range of communication styles, tools, and techniques which are appropriate to the audience.
- Planning and organising: Are self-managing and can think ahead to establish effective, efficient, and appropriate courses of action. Ability to prioritise and plan activities by considering all the relevant issues and factors.
