Established 95 years ago at the heart of the Peak National Park, Hope Works offers a quality approved apprenticeship managed by great people with traditional values who enjoy developing people to be part of our successful business.
Hope Works offers various high‑quality apprenticeships. Our apprentices spend time learning about maintaining and repairing equipment on the electrical network, as well as working on heavy plant including fixed and rotating equipment in our quarries and cement plant over a four‑year period. On completion you will qualify as an Electrical Maintenance Technician.

As part of your training program there will be a requirement for you to train away from Hope with our partner provider either three days a week or over block weeks with expenses covered by Breedon. As an Apprentice Electrical Maintenance Technician, you’ll support the vital need to uphold quarry and cement site production.
You’ll gain experience in:
- Improving the workplace with respect to health, safety and environment
- Assist in maintaining electrical equipment such as motors, cables, and switchgear
- Carry out planned routine and emergency maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
- Find and fix electrical faults using problem‑solving skills and techniques
- Gain experience and confidence in transferable soft skills so you feel comfortable working with your own initiative or part of a team
