Welsh Slate is part of Breedon. Here, you will be part of a friendly, skilled maintenance team, working at our stunning Welsh Slate quarry locations. Every day brings variety, challenge, and the satisfaction of keeping vital operations powered up and performing at their best.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnosing electrical faults and getting to the root cause of breakdowns
- Developing and delivering preventative maintenance to keep our sites safe and reliable
- Carrying out planned maintenance and responding quickly to unplanned shutdowns
- Playing a key, handsâon role in plant improvements and upgrades
- Working closely with colleagues and contractors as part of a supportive team
- Traveling to other Welsh Slates sites (company van provided)
Your Working Pattern
Monday to Friday. Occasional paid overtime on Saturdays.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
What Weâre Looking For
Essential:
- Qualification or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering
- Experience in a heavy industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of LV isolation and electrical maintenance techniques
- Experience with medium/high voltage networks and switching
- A solid understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental regulations
- Computer literacy
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable (training available):
- BS7671 inspection & testing knowledge
- PLC and VSD experience
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
