Job Description As an Assistant Quarry Manager based at Leaton Quarry Telford, you enjoy working in a ‘hands on’ position supporting the Quarry Manager in efficiently managing a busy Quarry alongside a collaborative and dedicated team. As Assistant to the Quarry Manager, you will take an active role in overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring the timely and cost-effective production of materials while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance. From monitoring plant condition and performance to strategically extracting mineral, you’ll help safeguard the site’s ongoing capability. No two days will be the same in this dynamic and varied role. This role is based on 48 hours per week Key Responsibilities As our Assistant Quarry Manager, you’ll be responsible for certifying the Quarry is run in line with the operating licence, through statutory procedure checks and reporting. You will place high importance on safety and be key in driving forwards our standards of excellence in all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental Management. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Essential: Experienced working in a quarry environment Previous experience in a management position Flexible, proactive approach to establish high standards of work performance Ability to demonstrate proven experience with assisting with management of a large site Positive and hardworking Desirable but not essential: Geotechnical Level 4 NVQ in HSE Quarry Management Level 4 (or equivalent) An understanding of Quarry Regs & ACOPNVQ in HSE Quarry Management Level 4 (or equivalent) An understanding/working towards IOSH or Supervising Safety Job Benefits 25 days Annual Leave plus bank holidays Enhanced Employer Pension Contributions Sharesave Scheme Group Life Assurance Company Sick Pay Training & Development Opportunities Employee Assistance Programme
