Breedon is a leading vertically integrated construction materials business in the UK and Ireland. Having commenced its expansion into the USA in March 2024, Breedon is still growing and sees considerable opportunities ahead, both organic and through acquisition. We are seeking a talented Legal Counsel to join our dynamic legal team. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with the Head of Legal, contributing to corporate and commercial projects that will shape the future of our business.
Role Overview
The Legal Counsel will provide expert legal support across a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including M&A activities (both domestic and international) and other value-add projects. This is an exciting time to join the legal team on its onward journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, ensuring alignment with the company’s values and risk appetite.
- Support the legal aspects of M&A transactions, from due diligence to contract negotiation and post-merger integration.
- Collaborate with departments such as finance, operations, procurement, sustainability, and HR to provide legal support aligned with business objectives.
Qualifications & Expertise
- Qualified lawyer with expertise in corporate and commercial law.
- Proven experience in handling corporate transactions, including M&A.
- 3-7 years post-qualification experience in an in-house legal department or relevant practice group.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive mindset.
