As an Electrical Craftsperson at Hope Works, you will be a vital member of the maintenance team, ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of all electrical systems, plant, and equipment. Your role will be central to maintaining the integrity of the site-wide electrical network, supporting both operational performance and safety within a demanding heavy industrial environment. We are seeking a self‑motivated, dependable, and adaptable individual with strong problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to improving workplace standards. You will work collaboratively within a multi‑disciplined team, contribute to the development of trainees, and consistently uphold high health, safety, and environmental standards.

Located in the Hope Valley (S33), Peak District, our site offers easy commuting access from areas such as Sheffield, Chesterfield and south Manchester.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver multi-skilled electrical maintenance across site
  • Maintain and protect the integrity of HV & LV electrical networks
  • Carry out planned inspections, preventative maintenance, and reactive repairs on fixed and rotating plant
  • Perform electrical inspection and testing to BS7671 (18th Edition), including fault finding and defect repair
  • Troubleshoot control and instrumentation systems
  • Maintain large motors and drive systems
  • Keep accurate maintenance records and follow schedules/procedures
  • Champion health, safety, and environmental standards — contributing to risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Support and mentor trainees within a multi-disciplinary team
Skills, Knowledge & ExpertiseEssential
  • Proven experience in electrical maintenance within an industrial setting
  • Strong fault-finding skills
  • Time‑served/apprentice-trained Electrical Engineer (or equivalent experience)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
  • Knowledge of electrical isolation, control & instrumentation systems
  • Comfortable working within a team and using basic IT systems
  • A positive, reliable, and safety-first attitude
Desirable (but not essential as training will be provided)
  • HV Operational Safety Training Course (C&G 9848-51 or equivalent)
  • C&G 2391-52 Combined initial verification, periodic inspection, testing & reporting
  • IOSH Working safely or equivalent
  • Safe isolation certification
