We are currently seeking a Fixed Crushing Plant Operative to join our team at Glenwherry Quarry. As a Fixed Crushing Plant Operative you will be performing a role that’s key to assisting the extraction, crushing, and screening of stone products.

More about what you will do…

  • Perform all duties in a safe manner.
  • Comply with safety policy and procedures to ensure the role is carried out without risk to self or others.
  • Complete daily prestart checks and safety inspections.
  • Prepare quarry face for the extraction, load material, feed crushing plant, control crushing plant and assist Quarry Foreperson as required.
  • Ensure aggregate stocks are managed, kept clean and in correct areas.
  • Operate a loading shovel maintaining stockpiles, loading trucks or fixed plant.
  • Operate a dump truck to move materials from loading zone to stock or fixed plant.
  • Fuel up all plant daily.
  • Assist with repairs and cleaning.
  • Inspect, clean and maintain plant and equipment daily and report faults to supervisors.
  • Ensure environmental standards are maintained and spillages are prevented.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as required.

What we need from you…

  • Knowledge and/or experience of using quarry machinery fixed and/or mobile equipment.
  • CSR card in relevant.
  • Safety training.
  • Experience in driving dumper trucks.
  • A valid UK driving licence (there are no bus routes to the work location).
