We are looking for somebody to be part of the Bagging operation at Severn Sands including operating various mobile plant primarily counterbalance Forklift Trucks, working on Bagging and packing systems & various plant and equipment as part of a team. You will be responsible for operating plant primarily operating a Forklift, but also as an operative within the Bagging operation to operate the bagging process which will also include housekeeping and basic maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating one of the 5 Site Forklifts – Forklift licence >5T Red or Blue card essential
- Providing assistance to the bagging team operating Bagging lines with general housekeeping duties
- Providing support to the Bagging Supervisor
- Operating site machinery including Loading shovels, Forklifts, MEWP’S & Mini Diggers (Subject to licences)
- Carrying out safety inspections of the site
- Complying with relevant work instructions as indicated by the Site Management team
- Carrying out pre-start and planned preventative inspections of machinery (including use of Assure & Check-proof) - Training will be provided
- Maintain records as required
- Ensure Safety of people, equipment, plant and vehicles, flagging up any issues to the Site Manager
- Lead by example at all times & challenge all unsafe behaviours and conditions encountered, flagging up to management to be recorded
- You must adhere to all Company Policies & Procedures.
- Be a brand ambassador for Breedon in the Southwest region
- Be versatile and adaptable, be prepared to work overtime and work out of hours for operational and maintenance tasks
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- A Forklift Licence - Is essential
- A FLT NVQ / MP Skills Card is preferred but not mandatory
- A Loading Shovel / Skid Steer & Telehandler licence is desirable
- Weighbridge experience is desired but not essential
- Previous experience of working in the Building products sector would be desirable
- A mechanical background would be advantageous
- The ability to work within a team environment is essential
- Being able to detect and solve problems is a great strength to have for this role
