We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager for our Surfacing Solutions business across the North and West of Scotland. The role will be based at either of our offices at Daviot Quarry near Inverness or Netherglen Quarry near Elgin. Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead the Surfacing Solutions operations team to obtain the required financial, sustainability and safety performance. Additionally, you will play a key role in developing relationships with key clients, including Bear Scotland, Amey and other private, industrial and commercial market customers as well as internal relationships within the wider Breedon Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively drive a positive health, safety & wellbeing culture within the business
- Client relationship management
- Full P&L responsibility to ensure all key targets are met and preferably exceeded
- Operational best practice ensuring client minimum performance standards are exceeded
- Collaborating with internal and external key stakeholders
- Health, Safety and Welfare of employees and affected stakeholders
- Developing new business opportunities by optimising opportunity with existing clients as well as developing new business opportunities
- Develop environmental and sustainable business solutions
- ISO accredited Management Systems compliance
- Overseeing the management, development and engagement of the operational team
- Ensuring compliance with all Breedon policies, procedures and operating standards
- Driving the culture within the business to ensure the team operate within the Breedon Values
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Experience of leading and developing teams at an operational level
- A keen eye for detail focusing on driving quality throughout operational delivery
- A strong technical understanding of material performance and adherence to specifications across the area
- Experience of key client relationship management preferably within a similar sector
- Ability to perform under pressure, analyse problems and evaluate data
- Evidence of influencing and driving continuous improvement
