HGV Mechanic - Monday to Friday in Oban

We are seeking an enthusiastic HGV Technician to join our team in the West Coast of Scotland. The role involves diagnosing faults, performing routine servicing, and carrying out complex mechanical and electrical repairs on trucks, trailers, and other commercial vehicles. Perform routine inspections, servicing, and maintenance of LGVs in line with DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) standards * Performing necessary repairs and maintenance on engine components, transmission, brakes, suspension, exhaust systems, and electrical systems * Carrying out scheduled maintenance tasks such as oil changes, wheel torques, and brake inspections to prevent breakdowns * Conduct MOT preparation and post-test inspections to ensure vehicles meet legal requirements * Maintaining accurate records of inspections, repairs, parts used, and service schedules * Keep the workshop, tools, and equipment clean, organised, and well-maintained * Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workshop efficiency and quality of service * Work collaboratively with other technicians, workshop supervisor, and Transport Manager * NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent, preferred but not essential for candidates with relevant hands-on experience * Experience working as an LGV / HGV Technician, Commercial Vehicle Mechanic, or in a semi-skilled vehicle maintenance role.
