With a strong emphasis on dyslexia, the post holder will facilitate the delivery of a balanced, relevant and differentiated Animal Care & Agriculture Studies curriculum to all pupils. They will support subject initiatives; monitor, assess and report upon pupil progress, and contribute to raising the standard of Animal Care & Agriculture Studies within the school. This role will involve engaging pupils from Year 7 to 13 with small and large animal care within out wonderful school environment and facilities.
The department is currently home to Guinea Pigs, Rabbits, Tortoise, Fish, Guinea fowl, Bearded Dragon, and Australian tree frogs. The working farm has a small flock of North country mules, 2 rams, 2 Shetland ponies, Holstein cross calves and various poultry species. The range of species allows us to teach and care for animals at the highest standards.
Our aim is to grow the department and expand our Level 3 offering.
