The Role:
As a Sales Assistant, you will be the friendly face of Breathe, playing a key role in creating a positive and engaging atmosphere for our customers. You'll be involved in all aspects of the shop's daily operations, ensuring our shelves are well-stocked, our displays are inviting, and our customers receive exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing outstanding customer service: Greeting customers with a smile, assisting them with their purchases, answering questions about our products, and offering recommendations.
- Operating the till and handling payments accurately and efficiently.
- Stocking shelves and maintaining attractive and well-organised displays of fresh produce and other goods.
- Ensuring the shop floor is always clean, tidy, and presentable.
- Assisting with receiving and unpacking deliveries, checking for quality and freshness.
- Helping to prepare and package products for sale (e.g., bagging produce, arranging gift baskets).
- Maintaining knowledge of our products, including their origin, seasonality, and any special qualities.
- Adhering to food hygiene and safety standards.
- Assisting with inventory counts and stock rotation.
- Working collaboratively with the rest of the team to ensure smooth shop operations.
What We're Looking For:
- A genuine passion for food, local produce, and providing excellent customer service.
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and approachable personality with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to learn quickly and retain information about our products.
- Basic numeracy skills and experience handling cash and card payments.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is desirable but not essential – we're happy to train the right person!
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
