Secret Mode is now seeking a Technical Designer to join our dedicated core development team. We are currently in search of a highly skilled Technical Designer to join our team. As a Technical Designer, you will bridge the gap between game design and programming, leveraging your technical knowledge to bring engaging and innovative gameplay experiences to life. In this exciting role, you will not be confined to a single desk function; instead, you will be heavily involved in designing, planning features and building new content to our existing catalogue of games to drive revenue and increase player engagement.
The core of your responsibilities will involve designing and implementing new and engaging features, levels and content using tools such as the Unity Engine or Unreal Engine.
Key Duties Include:- Designing and implementing gameplay systems and mechanics in conjunction with the Programming Team.
- Using scripting and programming to create and maintain game mechanics and systems.
- Developing and maintaining design tools and pipelines to improve efficiency and workflow for the design team.
- Balancing and adjusting gameplay elements to create a compelling and enjoyable experience for players.
- Collaborating with artists and programmers to integrate and iterate on gameplay features.
- Documenting and communicating design ideas and principles to the development team.
- Expertise in game design principles and mechanics.
- Proven experience as a Technical Designer in the gaming industry.
- Experience with game engines and design tools, such as Unreal Engine or Unity.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as C++.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Passion for games and an understanding of player engagement.
Travel Requirements: This role requires you to be in our Leamington Spa studio for two days a week and may involve occasional travel to events. Please note that this role is only open to applicants who have the right to work in the UK. We are currently unable to offer sponsorship or consider applications from outside the UK.
