The House Manager is the face of the estate on shift and the person who makes a guest's stay feel effortless.
Working as part of a small, close-knit team on a rolling shift pattern, you'll ensure every property is beautifully prepared before arrival, look after guests throughout their stay, and keep the operation running smoothly across Penicuik House, our cottages and houses, and the estate's event spaces.
Whether a guest has exclusive use of the estate or is staying in a single cottage, every experience is held to the same exceptional standard.
Responsibilities
This is a hands‑on, guest‑facing role with real responsibility.
House Managers uphold standards throughout each shift, support the wider hospitality team, and ensure nothing is overlooked—from the welcome on arrival to the final details before guests depart.
