The Logistics and Export Compliance Specialist will support the business in two key capacities. Firstly, the role will serve as the (Europe, Scandinavia, Caspian and Africa (ESCA) region’s subject matter expert for import and export compliance, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and requirements.

Secondly, the position will be responsible for facilitating logistics operations across all ESCA sites / entities. This includes coordinating domestic and international freight movements, ensuring equipment is shipped, received, tracked, and documented accurately, while maintaining compliance with STR procedures, customer requirements, customs regulations, and export control obligations.

Regional: UK Export and Import Compliance

  • Act as the regional export and import compliance subject matter expert for ESCA
  • Assume the role UK Strategic Goods Control Administrator for STR.
  • Support the application, management, and renewal of regional export licences for the ESCA region.
  • Escalate any potential compliance concerns, licence requirements, restricted destinations, restricted parties, or unusual customer requests to the appropriate manager.
  • Support the business in maintaining accurate asset and product information required for logistics and export control purposes.

Logistics Operations

  • Facilitate the Goods-In and Good-Out process for incoming and out bound shipments for bases in Aberdeen, Norway and Great Yarmouth.
  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments.
  • Arrange collections, deliveries, imports, exports, and intercompany transfers using approved freight forwarders, couriers, and logistics providers.
  • Track freight movements and provide timely updates to internal stakeholders and customers when required.
  • Support urgent and time-critical mobilisations, ensuring logistics risks are communicated early.
  • Assist with resolving shipment delays, customs holds, missing documentation, damaged goods, or delivery discrepancies.
  • Ensure all freight transactions are accurately recorded in the relevant freight tracker, SharePoint, and CSAM.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain export and import documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, customs declarations, certificates of origin, and temporary export/import documentation where applicable.
  • Ensure shipments comply with applicable export control regulations, customs requirements, sanctions screening processes, and STR internal procedures.
  • Support export licence checks and ensure controlled goods are not shipped without the required approvals or authorisations.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to confirm HS codes, country of origin, commodity descriptions, values, and Incoterms.
  • Maintain accurate records for export/import transactions, including supporting evidence for audits and compliance reviews.

Desired Qualifications and Educational Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in logistics or equivalent practical experience.
  • Good levels of numeracy and literacy (GCE O Level or equivalent).

Job Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience in logistics, freight coordination, import/export administration, and customs documentation.
  • Good understanding of international shipping documentation and freight processes.
  • Knowledge of export control, customs compliance, sanctions requirements, or controlled goods procedures.
  • Previous experience working with Norwegian logistics beneficial (not essential)
  • Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and international courier companies.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy when preparing documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and asset management systems.
  • Experience in offshore energy or rental equipment sectors.
