Role Profile

Job Title: Hospitality Trainer

Location: Our office base is in Liskeard, with the role involving travel across Cornwall to deliver training across the county.

Hours: 35 hours a week

Salary: Contract: £27,000 - £32,000 (dependent on experience) Fixed-term (ending 30th November 2027)

Interviews will be held on Friday 21st August and/or Tuesday 25th August and will take place in Liskeard Library.

Job Purpose

The Hospitality Trainer is responsible for delivering engaging and inclusive hospitality programmes that prepare young people for employment, apprenticeships and further training. Using practical hospitality training, coaching, employer engagement and blended learning approaches, you will help young people develop skills, confidence and workplace behaviours needed for success in the hospitality sector.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging face‑to‑face and online hospitality learning programmes.
  • Support young people to develop confidence, resilience and positive workplace behaviours.
  • Deliver pre‑vocational training in customer service, food and beverage service, front of house, reception, housekeeping and basic kitchen operations.
  • Provide Food Safety Level 2 and allergen awareness training or support learners to achieve these qualifications.
  • Develop employability skills including CV writing, interview preparation and job searching.
  • Organise employer visits, guest speakers and work placement opportunities.
  • Monitor progress, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate records.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs and promote inclusion.
  • Build positive relationships with employers and partners within the hospitality sector.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and learning resource creation.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety and quality standards are met.

Qualifications (Application)

  • English and Maths L2 or equivalent
  • Ideally: a related qualification (Level 3 equivalent or above) in one or more:
    • Information Advice and Guidance
    • Youth Work
    • Teaching
    • Project Management
    • Business coaching/support etc
    • Trauma informed training
  • Or relevant degree level qualification or demonstrable work experience in a similar role.
