We are currently recruiting a Falls Prevention Instructor on a casual basis for Friday mornings initially and as and when required.
Located just outside of Horsham, West Sussex, Bluecoat Sports Health & Fitness Club offers a unique experience for its members providing them with state of the art facilities and great customer service. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a friendly and sociable environment.

The successful candidate will have outstanding customer service skills, excellent communication skills and be a committed team player.

Responsibilities
- To provide a key role as a specialist Falls Prevention Health Trainer within Bluecoat Sports service to contribute to a reduction in falls and fall-related injuries within the local community.
This post holder will:
- Deliver group-based strength and balance classes (Falls Management Exercise (FaME)) to contribute to a reduction in falls and falls-related injuries.
- Be responsible for delivering a number of weekly classes to improve the health and well-being of older adults, in particular to build their strength and balance to reduce their risk of falls, with administrative support from the Exercise Referral Coordinator.
- To play an active preventative role across Christs Hospital and surrounding areas by spreading the message of the importance of strength and balance exercises and other evidence-based falls prevention activities.
Qualifications
- Recognised Health Trainer qualifications e.g., City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate for Health Trainers, or equivalent, or Royal Society of Public Health Level 2 Understanding Health Improvement or equivalent.
- Postural Stability Instructor (PSI) Level 4 training course (Later Life Training).
- Recognised endorsed Chair based exercise or Falls Prevention Activity Leaders Qualification: e.g Later Life or OTAGO.
- YMCA endorsed Strength and Balance qualification.
