Responsibilities
- Produce high‑quality 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models for various civil engineering projects.
- Work collaboratively with engineers and project teams to ensure drawings accurately reflect design requirements.
- Modify and update drawings as required, incorporating changes and feedback from the design team.
- Maintain organised records of CAD files, ensuring that all documents are stored and controlled according to company procedures.
- Carry out administrative functions as required by the Senior Technician.
- Work to project timelines, budgets, and communication with Project Managers.
Person Specification
Education
- Diploma or certification in CAD Design, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development progress towards Incorporated or Engineering Technician status.
Skills
- Proficient in using CAD software such as Auto CAD, Civil 3D, Micro Station, and Revit.
- Good understanding of civil engineering design principles.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Experience
- Typically 3-5 years of experience as a CAD Technician in a civil engineering consultancy or related field.
- Awareness of BIM standards and ISO 19650 workflows.
- Familiarity with databases, cloud‑based collaboration platforms (e. g., BIM 360/Project Wise).
