Hours / Days per week: 37.5 hours per week. Shift pattern: 5 days out of 7 with occasional Sundays. Any 7.5 hours between 0700 and 1900 with one hour unpaid for lunch.

Position Overview: The Assistant Depot Manager is a key role in the depot operations team. The main requirement is to play a leadership role and support the day‑to‑day operations in the depot, focusing on maintaining our standard operating procedures, especially in health & safety and food safety. The role will induct, train, and supervise staff and volunteers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Depot Manager in day‑to‑day operations and provide cover in their absence.
- Ensure transport and yard operate efficiently.
- Coordinate, train, and supervise staff and volunteers.
- Plan and manage resources.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local community organisations and suppliers.
- Oversee depot operational data, ensuring it is secure and accurate.
- Plan routes and manage collections and deliveries with suppliers and community organisations.
- Manage stock, warehousing, depot facilities, and vans.
- Act as a local ambassador for Felix.
- Develop and implement local compliance policies (e.g., food handling, health & safety, volunteer policies).
- Increase impact and quality of the operation.

- Warehouse experience in FMCG sector or similar.
- Successful track record in a leadership position in a warehouse environment.
- Excellent people‑management experience and a history of driving performance and accountability.
- Proven ability to drive efficiency, improvement and/or support growth and change management.
- Experience in improving and embedding processes and systems to optimise operational efficiency.
- Knowledge of developing and implementing compliance policies (ideally food safety and health & safety).
- Ability and willingness to work in a busy environment.
- Ability to work within a team of varied individuals with a positive attitude.
- Meticulous organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong PC skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
