We're looking for an experienced Infrastructure & Platform Engineer to join a fast-moving engineering team on a contract basis. You'll help shape and scale the platform that underpins our product, working across our Python/Django backend and Golang services, with AWS as the backbone of our infrastructure.
This is a fully remote role - work from wherever suits you. The core team is based in London, so reasonable overlap with UK working hours is expected for collaboration.
About the role
You'll be joining as a hands-on infrastructure specialist, responsible for the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud environment. You'll work closely with backend engineers building in Python (Django) and Golang, helping design and maintain the systems that let them ship quickly and safely. Expect a mix of hands-on build work, automation, and platform strategy.
What you'll be doing
- Designing, building, and maintaining AWS infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code
- Improving and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to support fast, safe deployments
- Working closely with Python/Django and Golang engineering teams to support application performance, scalability, and reliability
- Owning observability β monitoring, logging, and alerting across the platform
- Driving improvements in system security, cost efficiency, and operational resilience
- Troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure and platform-level incidents
- Contributing to the evolution of our platform architecture as the product scales
What we're looking for
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS across compute, networking, storage, and IAM
- Solid experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or similar)
- Comfortable working alongside Python/Django backend services
- Experience with Golang, or strong familiarity with Go-based services in production
- Proven track record building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes/ECS or similar)
- A solid understanding of observability tooling and practices
- Strong communication skills β comfortable working closely with product engineers, not just infrastructure teams
- Duration: 3-month initial contract, with a strong likelihood of extension to 6 months and beyond
- Location: Fully remote
- Start: Flexible, ASAP preferred
