About the Role:

We’re hiring an experienced Android Engineer to join a senior team focused on building secure, scalable SDKs and developer toolkits. You’ll play a core role in shaping mobile infrastructure, building for scale, and enabling high-performing apps that serve hundreds of thousands of users. This is an ideal role for an engineer who enjoys deep technical challenges and wants to push Android development forward.

What You'll Work On:

  • Design, develop, and maintain advanced Android SDKs and tooling libraries used by global engineering teams
  • Build large-scale Android applications and platforms that serve 100,000+ active users, with performance and stability at the core
  • Implement secure, cryptography-backed features and ensure end-to-end data protection
  • Collaborate with DevOps to optimise CI/CD pipelines and release automation
  • Develop robust test coverage using frameworks like Espresso
  • Work closely with product and architecture teams to define SDK structure, modularity, and release strategy
  • Integrate with Android Multitool, NDK, and low-level OS capabilities when required
  • Drive innovation around developer experience and mobile-first AI capabilities

Tech You’ll Use:

  • Kotlin, C/C++ (NDK), Espresso, Jetpack libraries, Dagger/Hilt, Git, Gradle
  • CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Bitrise, Jenkins
  • Security: Android Keystore, Secure Enclave, symmetric/asymmetric encryption
  • Architecture: Clean architecture, modularisation, MVVM/MVI
  • Performance: Profiling tools, memory optimisations, background task schedulers

Must-Have Experience:

  • 5+ years of Android development, including at least 2 SDK/tooling projects in production
  • Proven experience building scalable applications used by 100,000+ users
  • Strong Kotlin skills and deep understanding of Android OS internals
  • Experience working with cryptography, secure comms, or mobile payment infrastructure
  • Familiar with building and shipping products in fast-paced, cross-functional teams
  • CI/CD and DevOps experience for Android apps
  • Able to work independently and lead technical decisions in a collaborative setting

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with AI/ML models on mobile (e.g. TensorFlow Lite, edge AI tools)
  • Contributions to open-source Android projects or SDKs
  • Familiarity with backend systems that interface with mobile platforms
