We are hiring a Senior Android Developer with deep payments experience and strong architectural skills. This is a hands-on role for someone who can design, build, and deliver world-class mobile payment solutions. You will work remotely from anywhere in the UK or Europe, helping shape the architecture for payment systems used at scale. You’ll have experience working with EMV, payment kernels, and SDKs, and be confident in making architectural decisions to build secure, scalable, and high-performance mobile applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and design end-to-end payment solutions for Android applications
- Develop and maintain robust, secure Android payment applications
- Integrate EMV kernels and payment SDKs into mobile platforms
- Define and document technical solutions, architecture, and design patterns
- Collaborate with Product, Security, and Engineering teams to align on best practices
- Ensure adherence to payment industry standards and security regulations
- Lead technical discussions, code reviews, and mentor other developers
Key Requirements:
- Strong Android development experience (Java/Kotlin)
- Proven experience in payment technology, especially EMV and kernel integration
- Expertise working with payment SDKs
- Ability to design and document technical architecture for mobile payment solutions
- Solid understanding of mobile security principles and standards (e.g. PCI DSS)
- Agile/Scrum team experience
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Based in the UK or Europe, with full right to work
Nice to Have:
- Experience in contactless or in-store card-present payment environments
- Exposure to mobile-first fintech or payment platforms at scale
- Knowledge of cloud-connected payments and mobile hardware integration
