Breakthrough T1D is the UK’s leading type 1 diabetes charity, dedicated to funding research, advocating for change, and supporting the T1D community. We’re looking for a Challenge Events Coordinator to support our Events and Supporter-Led Fundraising during an exciting period of growth. You will primarily work with our Challenge and Sports Events Manager to provide top-class stewardship to our team of around 350 runners taking part in the 2027 TCS London Marathon. You will also help with successful delivery of Breakthrough T1D's activities during the event, as well as maximising income by supporting runners with their fundraising. The role will also involve supporting the wider Events and Supporter-Led Fundraising team with a range of exciting challenge events. You will have strong communication skills and be confident in responding to a range of queries from supporters. Due to the varied nature of this role, we are also looking for someone who is able to manage their time effectively.

You’ll have previous experience of a similar supporter-facing, supporter-care or administrative role. This role is perfect for anyone new to the charity sector who is seeking experience of challenge events, or someone with events experience but looking to expand their knowledge with a larger TCS London Marathon team.

As an employer we offer:

  • Hybrid working arrangements
  • Flexible working and will consider compressed hours
  • Generous annual leave entitlement – 25 days per year plus bank holidays for full-time staff with leave increasing after three and five years’ service

  • Season ticket and cycle loan
  • Pension scheme
  • Family-friendly policies – maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave at enhanced rates
