This award winning main contractor is looking to grow their team and the business by recruiting a new Contracts Manager to oversee multiple projects at the same time across the East and West Sussex.

Outstanding career opportunities: While initially you will be tasked with supporting the company and their clients from tender stage through to handover, you will enjoy a progressive, rewarding career as part of a company with a strong family culture that will lead to you running your own division as Construction Director. They are committed to the ethos of 'hiring for attitude and training for skill' and their various coaching and training programmes ensure that every individual is supported to fulfil their full potential.

Type of work: Project examples include:

  • Hospitals
  • Commercial
  • Schools
  • High-end residential
  • Heritage Health Projects range in value, from £50,000 to £2.5M

The role: Ideally you will have worked on similar types of projects and worked on them from the tender stage through to handover covering multiple projects at the same time. While there is a preconstruction team doing the heavy lifting around tenders, you will work with them to bring together the contracts programmes, logistics plans as well as looking at design risks and opportunities. On site, it is about managing and leading the team in a supportive manner while not micromanaging what is already a good team.

The right person: While experience matters, it is not everything. What is key is somebody who works as a team player, wants others to do well and is willing to get stuck in and make things happen. If you are willing to be that person and will look to learn and evolve as the industry evolves, then you are the person for the job and there will be a great career ahead of you as they develop your skills to being a construction director over the next 3 to 5 years.

Package: As well as a competitive salary, there is also a comprehensive package including car or car allowance, pension and health care.
